With the accelerated adoption of agile and multi-disciplinary teams known as ‘Pods” Product Design, as a profession, is on a trajectory to demand generalist designers over specialized ones. In response to this eventual pivot “The Product Design Playbook" is a comprehensive collection of methodologies and concepts that will guide designers and teams alike to build high quality products quickly and repeatedly.
For this Lean-Agile event, concepts covered will span across the spectrum of continuous agile product development. The presentation is intended to communicate a direct approach to help designers and teams discover and understand what to expect through learning about situational concepts to leverage at any given time throughout the continuous product development process.

Matthew Voshell is a product designer in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Through his career he designed both SaaS and mobile products for fortune 500 companies. Before becoming a product designer Matthew worked in the cyber security field as a consultant to several different U.S. federal agencies.
His new book "Product Design Playbook: Concepts & Methodologies to Live By" is slated for release this winter.

Jeff Gothelf is an author, coach and consultant, speaker and organizational designer. Over his nearly 20 years in digital products and services Jeff has worked to bring a customer-centric, evidence-based approach to product strategy, design and leadership. Jeff has worked in various roles and leadership positions at iXL, Fidelity, AOL, WebTrends, and TheLadders. Most recently Jeff co-founded Neo Innovation (sold to Pivotal Labs) in New York City and helped build it into one of the most recognized brands in lean and agile consulting. As a principal in Neo’s NYC office, Jeff functioned as head of executive training, coaching, workshops and education. Jeff is regularly keynoting conferences, teaching workshops or working directly with client leadership teams across North America, Europe & Asia.

Along the way, you will be confronted by paradoxical approaches of how workplace noise increases productivity, how two people at one computer outperforms hero-based organizations 10-to-1, how rigor and discipline emanate from a shared-belief system, how transparency conquers fear, how all of the disciplines you study including agile, lean, and six sigma when done well are really about building human relationships at the intersections of business and technology, between project management and software development, between development and design and how quality can be a natural result of a team built on trust.

About the Speaker: Ashwini Vijaykumar is an agile scrum master. She has 5+ years of experience in using waterfall and agile methodology to manage complex projects. Ashwini is a SAFe certified Agilist and can scale up agile to large organizations. She has worked with diverse clients across APAC and North American regions. Armed with an MBA in HR from ICFAI, India, she is passionate about coaching & mentoring. She likes to apply project management paradigms to improve the quality of life.
In her free-time, Ashwini loves to watch movies and binge on Netflix. She is organized by nature, loves biking, and fondly remembers biking on the great river road in Wisconsin last summer.
